  • RAZOROCK GAME CHANGER OPEN COMB 68 BASE PLATE OPTION

**NOTE: YOU ARE PURCHASING ONLY THE BASE PLATE.  YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE THE BASE PLATE THEREFORE YOU NEED TO ALREADY OWN A GAME CHANGER TOP CAP.**

The beauty of the RazoRock Game Changer is the robustness of its design. We can make various base plates to accommodate a standard Game Changer top cap and these base plates can drastically vary the shaving characteristics.  The Game Changer comes with many plate options(8 in total) which include Open Comb and Jaws options as well as multiple exposures ranging from 0.68 to 1.05.

If you own a RazoRock Game Changer and want to try an open comb razor, here is an easy way to do it!

Alternatively, if you want to build a complete Game Changer head, you can purchase this base plate along with a top cap right here:

    Blade Gap: 0.68 mm

Material: 316L Marine Grade Stainless Steel

Finish: 3 stages, 24 hours, machine vibratory finish. It's important to note that our finish is designed to de-burr and make the pieces smooth with minimum effect on machining tolerances. It's a tool-like finish and not a mirror-type high polish; each piece is unique (no two pieces will be identical). We don't believe in hand polishing our machined safety razors because it's self-defeating. We spend so much time and effort getting the tolerances tight, a hand polish will just ruin these tolerances. We would rather give you a quality tool-like finish at a great price and leave it up to you if you want to put a jewelry type polish or gun-kote at the razor later at additional cost. Razor pieces could have some small tool or finishing marks.

Other Details: Each razor is engraved with a unique serial number.

    Excellent open comb GC 0.68

I like the 0.84 SB and 0.68 SB game changer. I also have the GC Jaws 0.84 and I wanted to test the OC 0.68, I was hesitating between the 0.84 OC and 0.68 OC. However I was concerned that the GC 0.84 OC was too aggressive, a bit like the JAWS .84 However it was a revelation, it turned out to be excellent for me, very smooth, maneuverable, very efficient and the after shave feeling is wonderful. My absolute favorites from the Game Changer line are the GC 0.84 SB and GC 0.68 OC. I don't even feel like trying the other versions of Game changer. I found it ideal. It's just as rushed as the GC 84 SB. A very slight blade is felt to mark the angle but it is a very pleasant sensation. I highly recommend it. I think like the GC 084 SB it has the best balance of smoothness and efficiency but one on the security bar and one on the open comb.

I had not been truly satisfied with the .84 SB Gamechanger UNTIL I borrowed the .68 OC version. It made for a very satisfying and close shave. Went and bought the base plate for mine for Christmas. Can't wait to use it.

The best razor actually got a little better

I have been a big fan of the original GC .68 since I bought one.
The .84 was also nice but I always came back to the .68 as my undisputed favorite out of all my razors.
When the OC .84 came out I bought it because I love open comb razors. It was very nice but just a bit too much for me to use every day comfortably.

When the GC .68 OC came out I bought it without hesitation. I've gone through a few blade changes so far and I still love it. It does seem to be just a tiny bit more aggressive that the original which works for me.
I've used it with 4 day growth and it worked great. The original was perhaps a bit too mild to tackle 4 day growth without extra work. It would get the job done but required extra passes to be comfortable.

It looks like the GC .68 OC is my new favorite razor of all time.
Now if I can just get my hands on that one piece halo handle...

    True Blue!

True Blue! That is a the term for loyal and faithful. This is the name for this plate I choose. I was bouncing between the .68 JAWS, or .84 OC or .68 JAWS. I have a head to shave and a face to shave so it will work either way. This one was a couple of bucks more but I picked it anyway, I figure I will move up the line if I need more aggressiveness. My number one razor is my .68 Game Changer safety bar over my .84 so I would start here. I ordered a top cap and a plate for my extra handle. My top cap was a no go, it was a bad one did not work for me something was wrong with it. So I paired the base with my old .68, I did not want to do that because I am very finicky about mismatching my things. I figure I will give it just one try. I had a great shave on two days growth on both my face and head paired with a Nacet blade. It chopped right through the hair and had a bit if an aggressive bite to it. BBS was achieved after a three pass shave. I parted the OC base plate and it awaits its very own top cap. I call it faithful because I am growing my hair faithfully waiting until I can use it again, loyal because my Game Changer clan each have their respected parts not to be separated. Old True Blue is my .68 OC Game Changer, it has bite, it works with my favorite blade and it is fun to use.

I recommend this OC plate for tough beards!

Game Changer .68 OC Base Plate

I own the Straight bar .68 game changer. So thought I'd get the OC .68.. It's just as smooth but with a bit more aggressiveness, still very comfortable and enjoyable. If want a quality OC razor that will last a life time and give you smooth close shaves than you can't go wrong with the GC .68 OC. Ron..
