**NOTE: YOU ARE PURCHASING ONLY THE LUPO 58 BASE PLATE.  YOU WILL ONLY RECEIVE THE BASE PLATE THEREFORE YOU NEED TO ALREADY OWN A LUPO TOP CAP.**

The original RazoRock Lupo was such a hit with our clients that we decided it was time to create a "gen two" version milled from marine-grade stainless steel. We listened to your feedback from the aluminum Lupo and took it to the design board to come up with a razor that is even better! The three most popular suggestions were; a) You wanted the razor to be able to rest on the side of its head while still keeping the guard width the same as the width of the blade for excellent maneuverability; b) You wanted more optionality in terms of aggression, and; c) Many of you suggested a scalloped bar would add a nice aesthetic touch!

We delivered on all three suggestions and now the RazoRock SS Lupo is NOW available in SIX different versions,

    1. Lupo 58 - a 0.58 mm safety bar
    2. Lupo 72 - a 0.72 mm safety bar
    3. Lupo OPEN COMB 72 - a 0.72 mm Open Comb for those seeking a lot more aggression and efficiency - Same gap and exposure as Safety Bar 72 but will be slightly more aggressive due to the Open Comb design
    4. Lupo 95 - a 0.95 mm safety bar for those seeking a lot more aggression and efficiency
    5. Lupo OPEN COMB 95 - a 0.95 mm Open Comb for those seeking a lot more aggression and efficiency - Same gap and exposure as Safety Bar 95 but will be slightly more aggressive due to the Open Comb design
    6. Lupo DC - a 0.72/0.95 dual-comb version which offers a medium-aggressive open comb side and a more aggressive safety bar side.

        Blade Gap: 0.58 mm

        Blade Exposure: Positive

Material: 316L Marine Grade Stainless Steel

        Build: Fully CNC machined

Finish: 3 stage, 24 hour, machine vibratory finish. It's important to note that our finish is designed to de-burr and make the pieces smooth with minimum effect on machining tolerances. It's a tool-like finish and not a mirror-type high polish; each piece is unique (no two pieces will be identical). We don't believe in hand polishing our machined safety razors because it's self-defeating. We spend so much time and effort getting the tolerances tight, a hand polish will just ruin these tolerances. We would rather give you a quality tool-like finish at a great price and leave it up to you if you want to put a jewelry type polish or gun-kote at the razor later at additional cost.

Other Details: Each razor is engraved with a unique serial number.

I own a RR Lupo 72 and I owned a Lupo Aluminium. The Lupo SS 58 shaves the best in my opinion. It gave me BBS with two passes with near zero nicks. A thousand times better than Lupo 72 SS.
Blade feel goes from zero to minimal yet efficient. I got the impression blade chattering is completely under control. The only negative outcome maybe is the scalloped bar that make you feel there's something scratching your face. Sadly, this is common with all Lupo SS base plates. However, it's just a sensation. The reality is a smooth skin and a very nice after shave sensation.

        This Plate Understands Me.

I’ve been DE shaving since the 1990s. Got tired of paying for Atra carts and stole my Dad’s old Super Speed. Hated it until I learned about multiple passes. Then I learned about TOBS and shaving brushes and how the brush keeps enough lather in it for the whole shave. Then I learned to go with the grain to get most of it, across the grain to get the rest, and against the grain for BBS. Learned my growth pattern and my personal style developed from that. Got a Futur and an R41 and learned to shave with the blade not the handle. But even thou I can get a fine BBS with a very aggressive razor, I and my skin don’t enjoy it. After years in a drawer I pulled out the Feather Stainless I was sure was “too mild” and used my learning from the Futur and the R41 with it.

Surprise: 2-pass BBS. The low exposure and tiny gap let me use a little more manhandling to get the job done with no irritation, and learning to shave “by ear” let me extract great efficiency from these milder razors like the Feather and the Karve B plate.

Enter the mild Lupo. I already have the other plates and they’re a pleasure but the mild plate works for me. Like the Feather but more. Both are very precise and accurate but the mild Lupo, like the Karve B, takes that precision and adds efficiency over the Feather.

        Beautiful for me.

        Awesome. Just awesome :)

I have the Lupo 72 and love it. But with any true love there's usually a catch. The Lupo 72 gives me a fantastic BBS shave but a bit too aggressive to use everyday. By the end of the week my face would become a little sensitive. So I mixed it up a bit with the the milder GC68, also a great RR razor. The Lupo 58 plate is just as calm as the GC68 but with a closer shave. It's not quite as close a shave as the 72 but still an excellent for days where I want to look good but it doesn't have to be a perfect BBS shave. Plus I love the cut out corners that make shaving around the nose area easier.

Also love that IB is coming out with more razors with multiple base plates so you can adjust to what works best for you without a massive collection of different full razors. Great work IB guys!

        Best plate yet!

I now have all 3 plate’s and the 58 just hits the sweet spot for me. I can’t put a finger on it but it’s more efficient than the 72. Still has some blade feel but not bad. I got it Monday and had a 2 pass shave on a 1 day growth and today a 3 pass shave with 2 days growth. This is quickly becoming my favorite razor. YMMV Razorock razors are the best value in a SS machined razor.
