  • RazoRock BBS "Standard" Stainless Steel Double-Edge Safety Razor

    PROUDLY MADE IN ONTARIO, CANADA

What makes the RazoRock BBS safety razor so unique and wonderful? Our testers have told us the RazoRock BBS is the smoothest shaver they've ever used! We chalk this up to two reasons. Reason number one, the geometry of the BBS head puts more bend on the double-edge (DE) blade than any other safety razor we've ever used. This increased bend puts more torque on the DE blade making the blade edge more firm and rigid. All good razor designers know the secret to a smooth, irritation-free shave is a super thin and sharp blade that is held as rigid as possible! Reason number two, because of the geometry of the head, the shaving angle is decreased from the typical 45 degrees (angle of handle-to-face) to roughly 35 degrees for the RazoRock BBS. This allows the shaving angle to work better with gravity and the weight of the handle to guide the head more freely and intuitively across your skin.

Some people have asked, what is the significance of the BBS name? BBS is an acronym for BABY BUTT SMOOTH! I think that is pretty self-explanatory ;)

The RazoRock BBS safety razor is FULLY CNC MILLED from 316L (marine grade) billet and rod stainless steel at our machine shop partner in Ontario, Canada. We are VERY PROUD to offer you a razor of such high quality for an incredibly affordable price. This is a razor that will last many lifetimes if cared for and cleaned. Before you buy this razor, we ask you to do your research and see if you can find a razor of this quality for even double our retail price, we bet you won't!

    Available in 4 Options:

    1. Standard - Mild-Medium Aggression on our Razor Scale
    2. OC - Open Comb - Mild-Medium(Slightly More than the Standard) Aggression on our Razor Scale
    3. A - Aggressive - Medium Aggression on our Razor Scale
    4. AS - Aggressive Step - Medium-Aggressive Aggression on our Razor Scale

A note about finishing.  These razors are tools, not jewels. We use a vibratory tumbling finish process which maintains the highest possible tolerances for the razors. This means the razors will not be mirror finished and will not be mark-free. The razors may have some milling marks or finishing marks. The razors can always be jewelry polished by the client later but our goal is to sell the razor at the best possible tolerances and lowest possible price. The metal-on-metal contact from the handle locking against the base-plate will create a ring mark on the base. It's common for handles to have micro dents from the tumbled finish.

New daily driver! Head and face shaver

I loved my Mamba but holy smokes this BBS "Standard" is a fantastic shave. The shallower angle will take a few shaves to get into muscle memory but I had nearly 4 days growth on my head and it was nearly a perfect shave in one pass. The space between the bar and the blade allows for the shaving cream and cut hairs to pass through and rinses clean very quickly. It doesn't seem to pack into that space as it seems much more open. No nicks or cuts, fantastic shave.

    Two Pass Shave

I have used the GC 68P, GC 68OC for quite a while and like them both very much. The BBS Standard gives a much closer shave than the 68P without the tugging I experience with the 68OC. A very comfortable, close shave that is "baby smooth" with 2 passes. With light to no pressure I experience no razor burn and no weepers. The range of shaving angle is very forgiving making it very easy to use around the chin and jaw areas. My only complaint is the top plate is quite tall at the apex of the radius. This took a couple of shaves to get used to for me especially under the nose. There is a lot to like about the design of the razor head and the blade angle and how well it performs. As efficient as this razor is I can't imagine needing a more aggressive razor for me.

    Mild + Efficient = Perfection!

When my oldest came of age I started a tradition of giving my boys a wet shaving kit for their 16th birthday. For my second oldest, I wanted to give him a Mamba 70, but it was out of stock, so I gave him mine. Looking for a replacement 70 for myself, I decided to give the BBS a try. Gave it a go this morning and was impressed. Paired with a Kai blade it easily mowed down three days of growth and, after only two passes, left me with a beautiful BBS. True to the name! Just so I have it in my den, I think I'd still like a 70, but it's probably been dethroned as my daily driver. That honor is now reserved for the BBS.

    BBS standard with bulldog handle

I haven't been shaving for about six years so my hand was pretty rusty but with this razor I experienced the smoothest shaving ever! With a good preparation I had zero razor burns and no irritation at all. The razor is made out of ss billets and perfectly machined (mechanical engineer here) it's supposed to last forever. Canadians do it right, thanks. Cheers from Venice Italy.
