  • In late 2014, we found two wonderful tobacco fragrance oils. We couldn't decide which fragrance to use so we had a RazoRock "Tobacco Challenge". We wanted our loyal RazoRock clients to decide which fragrance they preferred. After a few months of emails, it was clear which fragrance was the resounding winner and now this fragrance is the signature scent of our RazoRock Puros After Shaving Splash.  The scent is carefully mixed into our popular RazoRock aftershave splash formula, which is all hand made using an old Italian recipe.

    The core notes to this scent are tobacco, musk, leather, vanilla, tonka bean and a little hay in the background. If you are a fan of musky tobacco scents, I think you'll love this one.

    Ingredients: Alcohol, Aqua (Water/Eau), Parfum, Polysobate 20, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Menthol, Dimethicolne Cololyol, Tetrasodium EDTA.

    Puros review

    This is a really interesting scent. It’s not like anything in my den. While it has a slight tobacco scent, it’s also rich and warm. I think this is one of those fragrances that will continually grow on me. I’m really enjoying it.

    Smells Like a Dirty Ashtray

    Maybe this one's too complex for me, but I think it smells like a dirty ashtray. Very reminiscent of Clubman Special Reserve, but mercifully, not nearly as strong. But, as divisive as that one can also be, it has its fans. There will be people that love this one, but it's not for me. Yucky.

    Rich scent, gentle on skin

    This is the first RazoRock splash product I’ve bought, and have been very pleased after a week of use. Absolutely love the scent. Wasn’t expecting it to be this good.

    First, as a skin product, this one excels at not over-drying my face, very Important as I have really thick and coarse whiskers growing in myriad directions, and dry skin means ingrown hairs and bad razor burn, regardless of shaving touch. I prefer the “clean” feeling of a splash, and this one has enough skin conditioning oils that I don’t feel like I have to use a lotion as well.

    Regarding scent, this is a great tobacco scent, floral but sturdy and grounded, one that I think is a good option for folks who use and like Bay Rum warmth but want to try something different. I get the essence of cured tobacco, and to me that’s more like a Brightleaf tobacco warehouse than the “roasted“ aroma of a maduro cigar. The musk and hay scents come through nicely throughout the day, and I get a warm leather and moist humidor scent as the day goes on that gives it some “oomph.”

    It’s the kind of manly scent that makes you feel good even when it’s 90 degrees and extra humid outside.

    Bottom line- for $11, Puros is a great aftershave that wears like a 10 hour cologne. Buy it for value, keep using it because it’s a great product.
