I’ve shaved with Proraso products for many, many years however I just didn’t think the green scent would be for me. The white and blue have been a staple in my shave den, I use them regularly. Ive also used the red but the sandalwood is just not my favorite scent. I recently picked up the green when it was on sale and I’m so happy i did. The scent is very light and refreshing and the eucalyptus is not overpowering like I thought it would be. All of the Proraso soaps are quality and have been a pleasure to use and the green with the menthol is fantastic for these hot summer days.
I was about to run out of Proraso green shaving soap and therefore ordered three bowls all at once to make sure I don't run out any time soon. While it's cheap, it also does the job very well for me, though other brands may be a fraction faster to foam up. The big difference is the menthol/eucalyptus. I like the gentle tingling sensation and the smell. The stuff lasts quite a while and I change it up every now and then with other shaving soaps, but I always want to have some of this kind at hand! I can't say for claims about irritation because my face isn't particularly sensitive. Will buy again without hesitation any time I run low! Delivery was quite fast and reasonably cheap.
Best soap I have used
I was about to re-order my "usual" (more costly) whipped shaving soap when I happened upon a tub of Proraso while shopping and since it was of nominal expense, decided to give it a try. I found the quality in relation to it's cost outstanding. The scent light and refreshing, it lathers quickly, stays moist and lubricates well. Just an almond size dab suits my needs for an entire shave. I've been using Proraso shave soap for over a year now and have been very satisfied with the quality/performance. Long story short; I had been spending three times the money for a soap that performed no better than Proraso.
Shame on me.
This soap is on $6 on sale. I try to keep this in mind when comparing it to a $40 soap.
This soap definitely hits far above its price. The cooling menthol is nice as I am shaving and the lather is great. I will say, I do find what other reviews have said to be true: It does dry on your face. But only if you did not add enough water to the lather. I find that on my third pass, I should add a few drops to make sure that it is fully hydrated.
Smell is excellent and I'm happy I picked up this budget soap that many rave about.
