The RazoRock 24 Barrel is a brush we are very excited about, a handle that took us much time to execute properly. Although the barrel seems like a simple design, it's proportions are critical to achieve both aesthetic beauty and great feel. The brush is very comfortable in the hand and great for face lathering because your thumb, pointer and middle fingers get close to the base of the knot when held, similar to how most master barbers hold a traditional shaving brush.
This 24 Barrel brush is fitted with a Tuxedo Plissoft synthetic knot. Over the last few years, we have sold tens of thousands of different RazoRock Plissoft shaving brushes and frankly there is no better shaving brush for the money, in the world! The value is unmatched in the industry and RazoRock goes beyond the competition by offering beautiful and unique handle designs, many of which are throwbacks to the past. You may be wondering what makes the Tuxedo Plissoft different? The RazoRock Tuxedo knot combines the backbone of our Noir Plissoft knots with the soft tips from our Silvertip Plissoft knots. If you are looking for a brush with excellent backbone but you still want a luxurious soft face feel then this is definitely the brush for you!
24 mm x 57 mm Tuxedo Plissoft Synthetic Knot
Handle Material: Black resin
Not a good experience for me with this brush so far. I confirm the tips are fairly soft, however it has too much backbone and it doesn't splay unless it has been previously loaded with soap. I do use mainly shaving sticks. The only way to work around that is to start swirling with the tips to load them and even the splay is rather hard to obtain. Furthermore, the hair are a bit too scratchy to my liking. Nevertheless, it could be a good brush for the price if it was not for one thing. I have been using this brush for a month now, and the brush has keep constantly losing one hair every single shave. I admit this is my first synthetic but I have read hundreds of reviews before purchasing it, and my understanding is that a common characteristic of synthetic brushes in general is that they do not shed (if not couple of bristles during the first week or two due to the fact that some bristles do not reach the bottom of the knot). Overall experience very disappointing. Still looking for a good synthetic brush to buy.
This thing is a joy to use. Bristles are soft, and have just enough back bone for me. Handle is big, and has a nice heft to it. It might be a little bigger than some may like. I'm very pleased with the way it lathers. Great job by Italian Barber getting it to me quickly.
This is one of three different RazoRock brushes that I use. I love this handle more than any other. The knot is not as good on the Plissoft knots that I have on my other two brushes. The brush lathers well. I find it a tad springy and it flicks the soap on the mirror in a way that the plissoft brushes do not. My knot tends to lose a hair with nearly every use. That is not a reason not to use this brush. It is great value and works up lather for a great shave.
So, I don't accumulate or collect brushes. I don't rotate them like I do with soaps and aftershaves. I find one that works, and I stick to it. This is the current everyday driver. It does everything right. Not floppy. not smelly. not pokey. The handle is great for artisan shave tubs. The only thing I wouldn't use this for is loading in deep mugs. The longer plissoft handle is better suited to that task.
Finally picked one up and I’m very glad that I did! Cool handle and nice soft tips. Plenty of backbone to face lather and holds the lather well for three passes. Solid price too, no need to break the bank to get a great brush.
Let customers speak for us
from 7860 reviewsI use this every day after my shower...and on a brush all over my
face and neck after my shave (wet shave).....terrific fragrance...can't to wrong with anything from Italy.......
Love the smell of this product.
This is a great stand that matches my MJ-90A razor and Plisoft brush. The Bruce handle Plisoft brush just fits into the stand at the knot. The handle doesn't fit but if you don't mind hanging it up high the stand works great. It has plenty of weight at the base to keep it from sliding around and their is a nice soft bit of foam underneath to prevent scratches to laminate counter tops. Great stand for a great price.
Even though the specs say a 26mm knot will fit I don't think anything much bigger than 24mm will fit. I would size up if your brush knot is bigger than 24mm or the handle is big like the Bruce.
I have nothing to compare this razor to because I am knew to single blade DE shaving. However, when I went to buy the "best" beginner razor, I found a bunch of reviews that were frustrated with the handle breaking off. One lone reviewer suggested that the RazoRock MJ-90A was the way to go so here I am. This thing, as advertised, is incredibly precise. The parts fit together perfectly and the blade is held precisely where it needs to be. It was so easy to load a blade. I love the machined stainless handle. It looks modern and cool but is plenty easy to grip with wet hands. I like the heavy handle paired with the aluminum head as well. I feel like that combo shifts the center of gravity down the handle of the razor a bit which I think I will like.
I have an angular face and medium/coarse hair that requires a daily shave. I have shaved with a Gillette Fusion 5 Proglide blade for years and that was the best cartridge shave I could get. This razor is no more aggressive on my face than that and in two passes with a Derby blade (and a beginner's lack of confidence) I got the best shave of my life! I wouldn't want anything more aggressive than this for my skin for awhile. If you are worried about the big gap or aggressiveness of this razor at all I would probably get the BBS standard instead.
From a customer service standpoint the the Italian Barber has been awesome. Plenty of info on the site to help me figure out if this was a good razor for me. Fast shipping and free since I was getting kitted out of the first time. Prices as good as Amazon. And I was pleasantly surprised to find a 5 pack of Derby blades in the box with my razor! Thanks for the unexpected, but appreciated, gift!
I like this line of soap from RR. I treat it like Mitchell's Wool Fat soap but I like the lather from the RR Pucks much better than the Michell's. Pre-soaking the puck and face lathering with a loaded brush creates an unbelievably thick, rich creamy lather. leaves my skin moist. look up how to on using hard milled soaps or mitchell's to get the best out of these at a very economical price.
Love this handle. Same size as the Merkur 34c handle but stainless steel. Pairs wonderfully with the RazoRock GC .68. Highly recommend!
This has got to be the smoothest razor out there. Its kind of like a Muhle R89 in terms of smoothness but its much better quality and tighter tolerances. I'm glad i got it, i have been using it as a daily driver.
The brush is great. One of my favorites. Holds a ton of lather and its pretty great price !
Just received, took an immediate shave. IB always delivers fast and is great shop. The RR Blue, both cream and aftershave, are excellent imo. I remember floid, this interpretation is great. Easily fills the floid :).
I'll soon be 54 years old in my humble opinion the Game Changer .76- P is top notch it is the best shave I have had since I started shaving in my teens Gentleman pull the trigger on this product you might want to try different blades but the razor itself is a Champion I wish I could give it 10 stars but the review would only let me give 5
I've been shaving with a 26mm and thought I'd like a 24. I saw this and said it may be small. No it's not. Just right for me.
Smooth razor. It isn't a beginner razor with a. 95 gap. Mild blade exposure makes it shave with ease though. If you have the . 72 and like it you'll love this. I'm impressed with the mildness of this.
Very similar in performance to a vintage Gillette adjustable on ≈ #6 - #7. Comparable to a Parker 78R as well.
A little smoother than a Gillette adjustable and a little closer/more efficient than a 78R.
The corner notches and no blade overhang are great design features!
Smell is delicious and the slickness is devine. Easy lathering and for the money it can't be beaten. Thanks Razorock! Another winner.
