  • RazoRock "What the Puck?!" Shaving Soap - Variety 3 Pack (3 REFILL PUCKS - Green, Black & Blue)

For a long time you've been asking for it, a triple milled hard puck from RazoRock! Admittedly, it took us a while to get this project off the ground. There just isn't many artisans left making triple milled hard shaving soaps, it's a dying art. Maybe it was luck, maybe destiny, but we were contacted by a small, four person (one family), artisan shop in northern Italy that was up to the task. After many test formulations and a personal visit to their shop, we're excited to tell you that we found the perfect hard puck formula for RazoRock! In typical RazoRock fashion, we believe you'll find the quality and the value to be unmatched in the marketplace.  We have decided to eliminate the plastic containers and instead to stretch wrap the pucks to reduce the amount of plastic waste and keep prices as low as possible.

Lathering Tip: This is a hard triple milled soap so loading your shaving brush and creating a great lather will take longer than a soft soap, cream or croap. If you've used Tabac or Mitchell's Wool Fat the technique will be similar, about 45-60 second of good loading and then a minute or two of creating the lather, adding droplets of water to your brush or lathering bowl, as need. The finished lather should be a nice yogurt consistency.

Scents Included: Green Label, Black Label & Blue Label

    Size: 100 grams (3.5 oz) - 3 pack of Refills(300g total) - Approximately 8cm (3.15 inch) Diameter - Stretch Wrapped

    Artisan made in Italy.

Triple milled recipe, enriched with Shea Butter and Lanolin.

What the Puck hard shaving soaps are great to drop into your favorite mug or shaving bowl; they can also be rubbed on your face and used as a shaving stick or lathered by holding the soap in your palm. They are formulated to be left out in the open air, there is no need to cover them after use.

    Good Soap on Sale

Initially liked this soap very much and the lather was top notch that I would compare with the best soaps out there. But as the soap puck is used it seems to loose much of the initial excellent properties. As the puck wears down to about half way or less the quality of the lather goes south quickly. It became sticky and not slick and causes my razor to drag. This produces some irritation and redness on my skin. Still if you buy it on sale it's still a good value.

    Good for the Price

Reevaluated after some more use: A hard milled soap that needs to be treated as such. Initially the soaps are great. After wetting with water overnight upon the first opening, then prep as usual the lather is thick, rich, creamy and slick. However, after the puck is almost halfway used up the lather it produces becomes much less slick, kind of sticky, producing drag on the razor. Also it begins to irritate and sting, leaving a slight redness on my skin. I have never had a puck soap do this before. Not sure what is happening to the soap chemically and disappointing. But I still got a great amount of shaving out of it before this happened. A good enough for a reasonable price when on sale

    Excellent Lather and Scent

These are hard milled soaps that will produce a slick lather with yogurt like consistency with some technique. I use a firm boar or a medium backbone black badger brush, dampen (soak) the puck and let it stand for a bit (10 min.) These pucks like water! I drain off the soaking water into my palm and use it for a pre-shave applied to the face. Squeeze out the brush and gently run it over the puck working the top of the puck in circular motions, to soften it and gather a slurry on the brush. I then lather on the face. Usually one loading is enough for two passes and as many touch ups as I want. I would compare the lather to the old Vito's Shave Crema. All of the scents are very nice, mild, old school barber or clubhouse aromas.
