  • RazoRock Game Changer OPEN COMB 68 Safety Razor

Do you shave only a few times a week? Do you want ultra-efficiency but a gentle feeling safety razor? Do you like the clog-proof characteristics of a well-designed open comb razor? If you answered YES to any of these three questions the Game Changer OPEN COMB 68 may be the perfect razor for you! The Game Changer OPEN COMB 68 is designed to be a mild shaving open comb razor that offers you the efficiency of a much more aggressive razor. The fully milled teeth make the razor virtually clog-proof for up to 4-5 days of growth, ideal for users that prefer shaving only once or twice a week. The beauty of the RazoRock Game Changer platform is you can purchase up to six different baseplates each offering very different shaving characteristics and use the same top cap and handle.

Why did we call this razor the Game Changer? It's really simple! This razor was produced to a standard that is superior to razors which typically costs 4-8 times the price, yet in usual RazoRock fashion, we are bringing you the highest standards of quality at a price everyone can afford. The RazoRock Game Changer is built to last a lifetime, machined from marine grade billet stainless steel, the same way a Swiss watch case is machined. This is a razor you can depend on forever!

Finish: Please note, these razors are tools, not jewels. We use a vibratory tumbling finish process which maintains the highest possible tolerances for the razors. This means the razors will not be mirror finished and will not be mark-free. The razors may have some milling marks or finishing marks. The razors can always be jewelry polished by the client later but our goal is to sell the razor at the best possible tolerances and lowest possible price.

    Head Weight: ~26 g (0.92 oz)

    1. Bulldog, 13 mm x 90 mm, ~2.8 oz weight
    2. Super Knurl, 13 mm x 90 mm, ~2.9 oz weight
    3. HD, 13 mm x 82 mm (14 mm Butt End), ~2.6 oz weight
    4. UFO, 13 mm x 85 mm, ~2.3 oz weight
    5. Barber Pole, 12 mm x 85 mm (Approx. 14 mm Butt End), ~2.6 oz weight
    6. Titanium Halo, 13 mm x 100 mm, ~1.7 oz weight

*NOTE: If you already own another RazoRock Game Changer, you may want to buy the OPEN COMB 68 baseplate. We sell the baseplate option for $34.99 here:

    Blade Gap: 0.68 mm

    Blade Exposure: Positive

Material: 316L Marine Grade Stainless Steel

    Build: Fully CNC milled

    PROUDLY MADE IN ONTARIO, CANADA

Finish: 3 stages, 24 hours, machine vibratory finish. It's important to note that our finish is designed to de-burr and make the pieces smooth with minimum effect on machining tolerances. It's a tool-like finish and not a mirror-type high polish; each piece is unique (no two pieces will be identical). We don't believe in hand polishing our machined safety razors because it's self-defeating. We spend so much time and effort getting the tolerances tight, a hand polish will just ruin these tolerances. We would rather give you a quality tool-like finish at a great price and leave it up to you if you want to put a jewelry type polish or gun-kote at the razor later at additional cost.

Other Details: Each razor is engraved with a unique serial number.

How to load the blade: The easiest way to load a DE blade into the RazoRock Game Changer razor is to put the base plate of the razor head (the flat one) in the palm of your hand, then drop DE blade over the alignment posts. Then you can put the top cap on and proceed to screw down the handle locking the blade into the razor head.

    Smooth, Mild, Efficient

Love it. Period. I got mine with the HD handle, I prefer shorter, more maneuverable handles. This sucker is heavy. My previous two favs were iKon OC and Merkur 34C HD, which are noticeably lighter by comparison. This has less blade feel than either of those, which to me means milder. However, where I usually have issues going ATG on my chin, whether mild or aggressive, leaving small weepers in the recesses where I have to work for it, the GC OC caused no irritation at all. My first shave with it left me with a very clean and comfortable DFS two-pass shave. I could have easily made it BBS with a third pass, but no need, I'm just going to work.

This first shave I paired it with Personna Lab blade, day 2 on the blade. Made a very nice shave. Looking forward to trying a Feather, and GSB, all in time.

Wonderful Balance of Small Gap and Comb Guard

I'm old. My skin is not as tight as it used to be, you'll all get there trust me. This razor has a slightly tighter gap than the .76P and is perfect at avoiding "skin gathering"between the blade and the guard. This also results in a very mild shave with low aggression in the full guard version which I also have. However the addition of the comb guard seems to make up for that and gives an slightly more aggressive feel to the shave. When combined with a more aggressive Blade like a Feather Blade I get a perfect balance of mild but very efficient, very comfortable shave. Can a razor be Mild and Efficient at the same time, this one is for me.

    Unefficient, injuring, harsh

As a highly experienced user of safety razor who loves aggressive razors, I was looking forward to this Razorock Game Changer .68 Open Comb razor. I hate to say this, but the razor was the deepest disappointment to me. It is extremely unefficient yet considerably harsh and injuring. The first pass was ok, but yet during the second pass there appeared the first drops of blood on my skin, and the third pass was already pretty bloody. But the efficiency was still surprisingly low - it took SIX {!} passes to achieve a BBS shave. Of course, I tested this razor ceteris paribus, keeping all other variables (the blade, the preshave oil, the soap, the brush) the same as any other time I shave. I don't like writing critical reviews, but the Razorock Game Changer .68 OC is the second worst safety razor I have ever user.

Game challenger . 68 OC, best razor ever

Since wet shaving became my hobby I started learning about razors and also buying different brands and models, trying to find the One which will meet all my expectations. I went trough Merkur 34C , 23C, Leaf Twig Thorn, Occam’s razor, PAA Symmetry …Then I learned about the SS razors, but the choices were so many. After reading and watching hundreds of reviews I decided that the best combination between price, quality and performance would be the Game changer .68 OC! Boy, was I right? Today was my first shave, and honestly all my expectations were exceeded! I have sensitive skin and tough whiskers plus my face has a lot of angles and corners, but first time in my life I was able to attain a perfect BBS with only ONE pass and a few touch ups! I was like “No way, this is impossible”!
Game Changer.68 OC put and end to my journey of buying razor after razor, because I don’t need anything else beside this simple perfection! Probably the only thing which I would like to add is the SB plate of the same modification. Thank you Razorock and thank you Italian Barber for making our daily life a pleasure!

    RazoRock Always Impresses

Finally able to get a Game Changer OC 68! Every time I think a RazoRock razor can't get any better, I buy a new one and an surprised. Sadly, adding this to my Mamba 70, Game Changer Solid Bar 68 and Lupo SS 72, this rounds out my need for variety in aggressiveness level. These guys really do make fantastic razors that are very affordable. Just buy one already!
