  • SATURNIA is inspired by one of my favorite places on earth. A spa town located in south-west Tuscany, that has been inhabited since ancient times. One legend, according to the Etruscans and the Romans, was that the Terme di Saturia (Thermal Springs) was formed by lightning bolts throw by Jupiter. During a violent quarrel between the two mythological deities, the bolts thrown towards Saturn had missed, causing the formations known as modern day Saturnia.

    The sulphurous spring water, at a constant temperature of 37.5 °C, are well known for their therapeutic properties, offering relaxation and well being through immersion. The main thermal waterfalls are the Mill Falls, located at an old mill as well as the Waterfalls of Gorello.

    The yield of the source is about 800 liters per second, which guarantees an optimal replacement of water. The chemical make-up is sulfur, carbon, sulfate, bicarbonate-alkaline, earth, with the presence of hydrogen sulfide gas and carbon dioxide. The minerals dissolved in water amount to 2.79 grams per liter.

    We used Tuscan herbs, common to the Saturnia area for the scent inspiration for this after shaving splash. The differentiating factor between the splash and the shaving soap is the splash does NOT contain sulphur minerals.

    Perfect for summer, or anytime! Spicy aquatic spiked with a volcanic sulphur that you won't smell anywhere else (to my knowlege). Cool going on the skin, smells great for hours after the dry down.

    When you read the description and you think you know what this will smell like, let me tell you that it’s way better than you think. An amazing after shave and scent, the herbs are fabulous and balanced as a scent, just love it. I have sensitive skin and I get a touch of feedback with this one but it subdues quickly.

    Outstanding!

    Oh boy this stuff smells great! If you like the Saturnia soap you will love the after shave. There's a tad bit of a powdery scent in AS which makes it a great compliment to the soap. Scent strength is just right. It lingers on my skin for a few hours. Feels great on the face too. Good stuff!

    This scent brings back childhood memories!

    Not sure what to say on this one. The soap is fabulous but does smell different than the splash. The splash smell reminds me of church when I was young, it has that incense woody smell to it. Not that it's a bad smell, it got me at first and wasn't sure, but as time went by, it settles and smells good. Performance is great though, a light sting and you want to go back in for seconds! Wife likes the smell which is important!
