  • Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap in Natural Wooden Bowl

Mitchell's Wool Fat soaps were first produced in the early 1930's by Bradford chemist Fred Mitchell who realised that the natural lanolin content of wool fat, which kept the hands of local sheep shearers and wool sorters so exceptionally soft, could also be beneficial to delicate complexions and sensitive skins

Mitchell's Wool Fat Soaps are still made to Mr. Mitchell's original formula, based on a recipe from the turn of the century and incorporating lanolin from the wool fat as the key ingredient.  The soaps are a simple and natural product with a delicate scent and is very popular among avid wet shavers.

Luxury Oak Wood Shaving Soap Bowl

We, at ItalianBarber.com, have been trying to source wooden bowls like this for a while but we were never happy with the quality... until now!  These bowls are hand by the same artisan that supplies The Art of Shaving (in the USA), D.R. Harris, as well as, the top Shaving product companies in the United Kingdom (you know the ones, hint... they start with a “T”!)

These bowls were made to measure for the Mitchell’s Wood Fat shaving soap pucks, as well as, The German Tabac shaving soap pucks.  The bowls can also be used effectively with smaller diameter pucks, such as the OSMA shaving soap puck and the Acca White Moss shaving soap.  Here is a little trick I learned (from Michael Ham, Leisureguy Blog)... When using a smaller diameter puck, simply wet the bottom of the puck and press it firm into the bottom of the bowl, let it dry and it will soon stick and not move around!

The bowls also make a great presentation for your Italian soft shaving soaps.  If you use one of the Italian soft shaving soap bricks, simply cut off 100 grams and mold it into the bowl; they function nicely and look luxurious on your counter (hint: the wife will be more tolerant of you leaving your products on the countertop!)
