    Note: Natural animal bristle brushes will have a slight odor when new; this odor will disappear after after a dozen or so uses. Also, boar brushes need about 15-20 uses to 'break-in', you will notice a huge improvement after a month of daily use.

    Small but mighty

    I bought this brush a couple of months ago; I had yet to try a horsehair brush and this one looked nice and wasn't too expensive - so I gave it a go. I've used it 7 or 8 times so far, and really like it! The knot is the smallest I have (and the handle the second smallest), so it's light and a good size for travel.

    It also whips up a great lather, and doesn't eat it the way my boars and badgers sometimes do. It's soft, but with that bit of scratchiness you get from a natural bristle. Yes, it smelled a bit at first but that quickly went away.

    All told, I'm VERY pleased with the purpose. The brush may be small and unpretentious, but it does an excellent job on everything from creams to triple milled pucks. And with no plastic and cruelty-free hair (gathered from grooming manes and tails), it's much more environmentally friendly than most brushes - a nice bonus.

    If you feel the need for a monster brush, this ain't for you. But if you like a smaller knot and a bit more backbone than most synthetics, this may be for you. It has quickly become one of my favourites.

Small but mighty
