    Modeled after our favorite open comb design, the RazoRock OLD TYPE open comb double edge safety razor is the perfect balance between gentle and efficient. We have yet to find another open comb design that inspires so much confidence yet mows down the hairs effortlessly. The vintage old type open combs are our favorites in the open comb category so it was only fitting to release a similar design under our RazoRock banner. To compliment the beautiful chrome two piece head, we have designed solid 85-90 mm handles. Better yet still, we are offering this razor for sale at an ultra affordable price point!  If you are a fan of our RazoRock Baby Smooth safety razor, the RazoRock OLD TYPE offers a similar balance of safety and efficiency.

    Escellent! Very comfortable and efficient as stated.

    Spent a long time considering open comb options from many brands at a huge range of price points, and I ultimately chose this model. Extremely glad I did! The quality and weight are astounding for the price, and (provided your technique is good) it's as smooth and quick as you'll ever want. This is my new go-to razor.

    Surprisingly Mild, Yet Efficient

    All those exposed teeth make this razor look like it wants to bite you. Rest assured, it's just smiling.
    What a delightful razor! I don't know how they did it, but this razor is smooth and efficient while retaining a surprisingly mild character. Would highly recommend for someone looking to try an open comb razor.

    perfect razor for the lazy shaver

    TSA's new policy meant the confiscation of my 15+ year old merkur something-or-other which was just as well since I long ago moved from being a daily shaver to weekly shaver ... or worse ...

    The OLD TYPE is just as mild, just as error proof, just as indifferent to my routine (don't ask, you'd be horrified) as the merkur it replaced while handling two weeks of full beard better than the merkur managed two days of stubble.

    For this lazy shaver it's a big win.

    By the by, I also picked up the SLOC at the same time. I found it both too aggressive for my skin and less efficient with several days growth than the OLD TYPE.

    Fantastic Razor, and Terrific Value!

    Fantastic razor, and terrific value! The open comb design with large blade exposure make it look very aggressive, but rigid blade bending / clamping and narrow gap (similar to Fatip's) make this razor both mild while being very efficient. The lack of blade chatter makes it easy to get 2-3 pass BBS shaves with no nicks. The heavy, grippy stainless steel handle by itself is worth the price, and although the head is zinc alloy, with reasonable care, I predict excellent service from the flawless chrome plating (I regularly lube the threads of the top cap bolt and use a nylon washer on all my 3 piece razors as a precaution).

    Mild, yet very efficient. An excellent value!

    Unlike the original Gillette Old Types, this razor is surprisingly mild and smooth. Not only would it make a fine first razor for a beginner, but the efficiency would please even the most experienced user.

    And, to top off the great performance, this razor is a fantastic value. Where else are you going to get this kind of quality (including a stainless steel handle) for such a low price?
