I'm one of those rare birds that actually likes going to the mall with my wife. Why you may ask? Because I get to explore the latest and greatest at the fragrance counters! A lot of the inspiration for RazoRock products comes from fragrances I can't afford to purchase; surely I can't be the only one around here WITHOUT a limitless credit card or bank account?! This brings us to NOMAD. What is it?

One day, while strolling around a well air conditioned mall in Tampa, Florida, I stumbled into an Art of Shaving store. Low and behold, they were recently stocked with a bunch of Penhaligons fragrances and testers! Spray, sniff, spray, sniff... there were so many winners, but one scent stood out from the crowd... ZIZONIA! I was so stoked that I asked for a bunch of samples and brought them back to my business partner to sniff. Guess what? I wasn't the only one in love with this scent.

Fast forward a few years and with the aid of an expert perfumer in France, we have created a RazoRock version of Zizonia. It wasn't cheap and it wasn't fast but I hope you enjoy it as much as we do... and, it won't leave you feeling guilty.

RazoRock shaving cream soaps are best used with a traditional shaving brush; if you are new to wet shaving, be sure to check out our RazoRock Plissoft brushes, they offer incredible value and performance.

I think I also got the batch that MM got.

I got this during the recent "we're moving" sale. I have many RR soaps and generally I like them, but I noticed the same issues as in the 2 earlier reviews. The so-called "mysterious blend of creamy woods and warm spices" does not exist at all. Neither when opening the packaging, nor when creating a lather. All I can smell is just... well... a generic soap. The container I got says lot no 03818 so I'm guessing this is a 2018 batch. Shaving performance is ok but the scent is far from inspiring to try it again. Regret spending money on this, even if it was just a few dollars.

    HI Olaf,
Nomad is a very soft scent for people that like very mild fragrance soaps. It is definitely not a powerhouse scent and is designed to be like that

    Very Fast Lather

This soap arrived yesterday and I used it for the first time this morning with my GC 84 OC razor, BIC blade, and a Georgetown Pottery scuttle. I was surprised how fast it created a very thick and long lasting lather that stayed warm in the scuttle for three passes. The scent is pleasant and not overbearing. Great deal at the sale price!

I've been a huge fan of the Nomad Aftershave for a couple of years.

This soap has like 5% of the smell that the aftershave has. It smells more like the soap ingredients. I feel like they ran out of the fragrance oils when they mixed the batch.

I was also kind of disappointed with the performance of the shave. Not as good as typical Razorock. Not very slick. Kind of dry. Probably going to give it to a friend.

    RazoRock's best kept secret?

I'm surprised there are not more reviews on the soap and shaving cream. My review is quite opposite of the gentleman's review below. The scent IS manly and quite bold. 'Warm spices' is quite accurate. Pair it with the aftershave for best results. I've had many compliments post shave. Don't let this one die RazoRock.

    Average feel, weak perfumy scent

As always, I really like RR's performance, but more so in the case of its tallow base soaps - which this isn't. But as is too often the case, the scent is just weak. Not only that, but for all the hype about "creamy woods and warm spices," all I'm picking up really reminds me of old lady perfume - nothing manly about it IMO. Having taken the chance on a blind buy of both the soap and the aftershave (based on the description and glowing reviews), I'm left feeling a bit let down. Hopefully I'll warm up to this over time, but I doubt it.
