  • Italian men have a well known love affair with fine fragrances.  You don’t have to search very hard to find stories of iconic Italian businessmen devoting their time and money reviving a famous fragrance house, simply because they are in love with a scent.  Although it was the British royalty that first developed the concept of “the signature scent”, I believe it was in Italy where the concept was embraced by the average man.  If you spend time in the streets and piazzas of Italy, you will soon realize how passionate the men are about smelling great; and they really know how to do it right!

Son of Zeus was inspired by a very popular fragrance,  a fragrance that I’ve often caught a whiff of, while exploring and enjoying time in a country that I love, Italy.  This scent is worn by many discerning Italian men and it’s caught my nose on more than one occasion, leaving me intrigued and curious.  I knew I just had to create a shaving soap with this timeless scent! This amazing fragrance is carefully blended with our vegetable argan oil soap base.

Scent: Powerful orange spice with an earthy undertone.

Ingredients: Aqua(Water/Eau), Stearic Acid, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Potassium, Hydroxide, Sodium Hydroxide, Hydrogenated Lanolin, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea)Butter, Fragrance(Parfum), Argania Spinosa (Argan)Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Extract(Aloe), Citronellol, Hydrocitronellal, Limonene, Linalool.

Razorock Son Of Zeus now uses are RazoRock Super Formula which includes Shea Butter, Argan Oil, Aloe Vera and Lanolin, for unmatched post-shave and razor glide!

    Hard to describe

For some reason my olfactory sense has a hard time detecting this scent when I smell the soap out of the tub. The funny thing, however, is that I can detect the citrusy scent on my brush the day after having lathered it. Something strange is going on, but I love these Razorock soaps. I had a red rose in my back yard the scent of which my father absolutely loved; I couldn't really detect that one either.

Great base, scent is like it or hate it

Great soap base like others from Razorock. The scent is mostly what I am reviewing here. This seems to be a spoof of Terre d'Hermes and not quite right compared to the real thing. This scent either hits you as a good earthy grapefruit/citrus scent mixed with chipped gravel or it immediately hits you as burnt hair. We passed this around in my family and it's 50/50, like it or hate it. Notice I'm not saying love it or hate it, those that liked it were not excited about it in any way. Those that did not like it had a strong reaction that often involved sneezing as well.

The good news is even if you get the burn hair smell it gets a little better over time. Next day I tried it again and started getting the "flint" notes but still did not smell like something I would enjoy. It did work great for shaving but I'm passing it forward to a family member that said it smelled ok to their nose.

Smells really exotic. Lots of citrus and a earthy sort of dirt cologne scent. Either way its blended wonderfully and smells sophisticated, masculine and classy.
Performs better than any of my other soaps.
    I love it.
