    Versatile Razor

I’ve been a slant head razor wet shaver for a number of years, enjoying the efficiency of these razors, which for me minimizes the number of passes/buffing and limits opportunities for razor burn. Recently my work schedule changed, which impacts on my shaving routine, sometimes 2-3 days between shaves and daily at other times. While the slant heads are more than capable of dealing with my 2–3 day old beard, I was in the mood to try a razor that allowed me to adjust the aggressiveness of the shave, and I decided to try the 6S. So far I’ve been very pleased with my shaving results, using a 4-5 plate for older beard growth, then finishing with a #2 plate for my second and or third passes, with no burn and nice smooth skin . Some may feel that’s too much effort to change the base plate in the middle of a shave, but the #4 flips to a #2 in seconds, and I don’t mind the minimal effort that entails. The fit and finish on the razor are very nice. The only minor annoyance is that in putting together the three pieces, threading the handle on to the plates seems to require more attention than any of my other three piece razors require to seat the handle on to the threads. This is minor and wouldn’t give me any pause about purchasing this razor again.

not at all what I hoped for

I must say that the Rockwell name was the main reason I ordered this unit. I have been quite disappointed with my shaving results with it thus far. Even the lowest numbered back gives me a very aggressive shave.

    Well worth it

Lets begin.. I have over 30 razors most 1940s to today.. Slants etc.. My ONlY new razors ever bought was the Wunderbar. The German slant (so in expensive) and great and now the Rockwell 6s
In this hobby and make this your hobby shaving is a hobby you can do every day even 2xs a day. The 6s is worth every penny. At $99.00. Its amazing. Y? If every day you want think about your shave to be and ALSO think how long till our next shave this is perfect razor. Not one cut .Did start off on #4. Was
good but needed more blade feel. Feather blade Astray and lords.wrnt to 6 setting and perfect for 2
pass then went to 4 for 3rd and 3 for clean up. Like a painter with different brushes.. Shave lasted 24 hours if u want more hair to shaver or another in 12 hours do a 2 pass with a less # Shave was great. Just get it and always Italian Barbara products the best

    As close as a 2011 R41 w/o the risk

I started with the 4, and quickly moved on to the 6. Unlike my Muhle, this razor is almost foolproof in its use. Very forgiving of both angle and pressure. IIt gives a nice BBS no matter the blade. I put a Razorock Bazooka handle on mine to give me more to grab.

This is a fantastic razor. The quality of the razor, together with the ingenious serious of base plates makes the price a true bargain, especially given the prices that other stainless steel razors go for. I use base plate #2 which is supposed to be the second-most mild setting. All I can say is that at even this setting, the razor is quite efficient; more efficient than, e.g., setting 2 on a Fatboy. But still, I get a smooth two-pass shave. Of course, YMMV, but I would be surprised if there were not a setting suitable for almost anyone included in the set of base plates.
