      Beauty with backbone

This was my first brush purchase. The Black Badger hair is the stiffest of all the badger hair grades. At first use this brush has a scratchy feel. However, over time it softens up and has a nice feel. The badger hair has plenty of backbone and is my preferred bush to use with harder shave soaps. Note, my brush had a slight musky animal smell, when it was new. This smell disapated after about six uses. Make sure you wash and prep the brush before it's first use. The handle is absolutely gorgeous and has a nice heft to it. The handle is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand and works great with smaller mouth bowl sizes. Hair lost on this brush has been minimal, three to four at the most over a six month period. The price point provides great value for what you get. This brush will make a great addition to anyone's shave den.
